Email channel: receive and reply to emails with AI
Connect your business email to Selesai. When customers email you, the AI replies instantly — and a team member can take over anytime.
How it works
Selesai connects to your email via SMTP (for sending) and a webhook (for receiving). When a customer emails you, the message is forwarded to Selesai, the AI generates a reply, and the response is sent back via your SMTP credentials.
- 1
Connect SMTP
Go to Settings → Channels → Email. Enter your SMTP credentials (host, port, username, password). The connection is verified automatically.
- 2
Set up forwarding
Copy the webhook URL from Settings and set up email forwarding in your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) to send incoming emails to that URL.
- 3
AI replies
When an email arrives, the AI reads it, searches your knowledge base, and sends a branded HTML reply. Customers see a professional email with your business branding.
Customize your email look
Go to Settings → Email Branding to customize how your AI email replies look. You can change the brand color, add your logo, and write a custom footer.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Brand color | Changes the header gradient and accent colors |
| Logo URL | Replaces the business name in the header with your logo |
| Footer text | Custom message below the AI reply |
Supported email providers

- Gmail — Use app password for SMTP, set up forwarding via filters
- Outlook/365 — SMTP works directly, forwarding via inbox rules
- Zoho Mail — SMTP + inbound webhook
- Custom — Any SMTP server + any forwarding service
